Fertility Assessment

Doctor and Patient

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 8-12% of couples worldwide experience difficulty or delay in falling pregnant. Infertility increases with age as is defined as an inability to conceive:

  • After trying for 12 months if the female partner is under the age of 35 and has regular cycles

  • After trying for 6 months if the female partner is over the age of 35 with regular cycles

If you have irregular cycles or a known condition that may affect your fertility like PCOS or endometriosis we would recommend seeking advice earlier

Causes of Infertility:

  • Ovulatory disorders.

  • Male factor issues (e.g., sperm abnormalities).

  • Tubal factors (blockages or damage to the fallopian tubes).

  • Uterine or cervical abnormalities.

  • Age-related factors.

  • Unexplained infertility.

Your initial fertility consultation with Dr Marina Demyanenko encompasses a comprehensive medical history review and diagnostic investigations to ascertain potential underlying factors contributing to challenges in conception. This evaluation aims to formulate a tailored treatment plan to address your specific needs.

In light of advancements in medical science and technologies, our clinic offers a spectrum of treatment modalities.

These range from providing reassurance and guidance, prescribing medications to facilitate ovulation, undertaking intrauterine insemination (IUI), to more sophisticated interventions such as In vitro fertilisation (IVF). The selection of the most appropriate treatment strategy will be determined collaboratively, taking into account your individual circumstances and preferences.
